Test 87A - Speed Sensitive Auto Door Lock System
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.0L
article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
- Using scan tool, read Auto Door Lock (ADL) status. If scan tool does not display AUTO DOOR LOCKS ARE ENABLED, use scan tool to enable ADL and retest system. If scan tool displays AUTO DOOR LOCKS ARE ENABLED, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, actuate door locks. If doors do not lock during actuation, go to TEST 78A . If doors lock during actuation, go to next step.
- Ensure all doors are closed. Using scan tool, read left door ajar switch status. If scan tool does not display LF DOOR AJAR OPEN, go to TEST 21B . If scan tool displays LF DOOR AJAR OPEN, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read right door ajar switch status. If scan tool does not display RF DOOR AJAR OPEN, go to TEST 22B . If scan tool displays RF DOOR AJAR OPEN, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read BCM monitors. If TPS percentage does not increase as throttle is opened, see TESTS W/CODES - 3.0L article to diagnose TPS faults. If TPS percentage increases as throttle is opened, go to next step.
- Raise and support vehicle. Start engine and shift vehicle into Drive. Using scan tool, read BCM monitors. If MPH does not increase as throttle is opened, see TESTS W/CODES - 3.0L article to diagnose VSS faults. If MPH increases as throttle is opened, system is operating properly at this time. Turn ignition off and retest system.
