Test 6B: Left Front Sensor Circuit
NOTE:
Perform TEST 6A: SENSOR CIRCUIT
before proceeding. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
.
- Inspect Left Front (LF) Wheel Speed Sensor (WSS) and connector for damage, or for connector being disconnected. If LF WSS and connector are okay, go to next step. If LF WSS or connector are damaged, or connector was disconnected, repair or reconnect connector as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect LF WSS. Inspect connector for pushed-out terminals, damaged terminals or miswired terminals. If all terminals are okay, go to next step. If terminals are defective, repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST .
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance across LF WSS. If resistance is 800-1400 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace LF WSS. Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST .
- Check resistance between ground and either LF WSS terminal. If resistance is 15,000 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 15,000 ohms, replace LF WSS. Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST .
- Disconnect CAB connector. Inspect CAB connector and terminals for damage. Repair connector and terminals as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST . If connector and terminals are okay, go to next step.
- Check resistance between ground and LF WSS connector terminal No. 2 (Red wire). If resistance is 15,000 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 15,000 ohms, repair short to ground in Red wire between CAB and LF WSS. Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST .
- Check resistance between ground and LF WSS connector terminal No. 1 (Red/Dark Blue wire). If resistance is 15,000 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 15,000 ohms, repair short to ground in Red/Dark Blue wire between CAB and left LF WSS. Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST .
- Connect a jumper wire between ground and LF WSS connector terminal No. 2 (Red wire). Check resistance between CAB connector terminals No. 11 (Black wire) and No. 15 (Red wire). If resistance is less than 10 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 ohms or more, repair open Red wire between CAB and LF WSS. Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST .
- Move jumper wire from LF WSS terminal No. 2 (Red wire) to LF WSS connector terminal No. 1 (Red/Dark Blue wire). Check resistance between CAB connector terminals and No. 11 (Black wire) and No. 30 (Red/Dark Blue wire). If resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace CAB. Perform TEST VER-1A: VERIFICATION TEST . If resistance is 10 ohms or more, repair open Red/Dark Blue wire between CAB and LF WSS. Perform TEST VER-1A.
