Test 84B - Incorrect Ambient Temperature Reading

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Eagle Vision, 1997 Dodge Intrepid, 1997 Chrysler LHS, and 1997 Chrysler Concorde. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Perform TEST 84A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Drive vehicle to update OTIS and perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
  1. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Bone and Gray connectors. BCM is located behind right kick panel. Using scan tester in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 15 (Gray/Tan wire) on BCM Bone connector. If resistance is less than 500 k/ohms, repair Gray/Tan wire for partial short to ground. If resistance is 500 k/ohms or greater, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tester in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 10 (Violet/Light Green wire) on BCM Gray connector. If resistance is less than 500 k/ohms, repair Violet/Light Green wire for partial short to ground. If resistance is 500 k/ohms or greater, go to next step.
  3. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminal No. 15 (Gray/Tan wire) on BCM Bone connector and terminal No. 10 (Violet/Light Green wire) on BCM Gray connector. If resistance is less than 500 k/ohms, repair Violet/Light Green wire for short to Gray/Tan wire. If resistance is 500 k/ohms or greater, replace BCM.
