Test 86A - Testing OTIS Switches

NOTE: Perform TEST 81A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Drive vehicle to update OTIS and perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition off. Leave key in ignition switch. Open left front door. If chime does not sound, go to TEST 33A  . If chime sounds, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition on. Close left front door. Press each OTIS button and listen for beep. If beep is not heard, replace OTIS module. If beep is heard, switches are currently working properly.
