Test 102E - Remote Keyless Entry Problem
NOTE:
Perform TEST 102A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
and WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Drive vehicle to update OTIS and perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Gain access to Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module. See Figure . Turn ignition off and remove key. Disconnect RKE module Black connector. Turn ignition on. Go to next step.
- Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage at terminal "A" (Pink wire) on RKE module Black connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Pink wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal "D" (Dark Green wire) on RKE module Black connector. If resistance is 1500 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Dark Green wire. If resistance is more than 1500 ohms, go to next step.
- Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage at terminal "G" (Pink/Black wire) on RKE module Black connector. Press and hold door lock switch in LOCK position. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Pink/Black wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. Release door lock switch.
- Measure voltage at terminal "E" (Pink/Violet wire) on RKE module Black connector. Press and hold door lock switch in UNLOCK position. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Pink/Violet wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. Release door lock switch.
- Measure voltage at terminal "C" (Orange/White wire) on RKE module Black connector. Press and hold door lock switch in LOCK position. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Orange/White wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace RKE module.
