Test 146B - Repairing Parking Light Circuit

NOTE: Perform TEST 146A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring schematics, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  in this article. Perform TEST VER-3A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Using scan tool, actuate parking light relay. If parking lights toggle on and off, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right kick panel. If parking lights do not toggle on and off, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect BCM Gray connector. Ensure connector is clean and undamaged. Go to next step.
  2. Connect jumper wire between terminal No 24 (Light Blue wire) on BCM Gray connector and ground. If parking lights illuminate, replace BCM. If parking lights do not illuminate, disconnect jumper wire. Go to next step.
  3. Disconnect parking light relay. Relay is located behind dash, below headlight switch. Ensure connector is clean and undamaged. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage at terminal "B" (Pink/Red wire) on parking light relay connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Pink/Red wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  4. Measure voltage at terminal "C" (Pink/Red wire) on parking light relay connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Pink/Red wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  5. Connect jumper wire between terminals "B" (Pink/Red wire) and "D" (Black/Yellow wire) on parking light relay connector. If parking lights do not illuminate, repair open Black/Yellow wire. If parking lights illuminate, disconnect jumper wire and go to next step.
  6. Using an external ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminal No. 24 (Light Blue wire) on BCM Gray connector and terminal "A" on parking light relay. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Light Blue wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace parking light relay.
