Test 88B - All Doors Fail To Lock & Unlock From Any Switch

NOTE: Perform TEST 88A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Drive vehicle to update OTIS and perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Using scan tool, read door lock switch voltage. If voltage is more than 0.2 volt, go to TEST 88C  . If voltage is 0.2 volt or less, remove door lock relay and door unlock relay from junction block. See Figure . Junction block is located behind end cover, on left side of instrument panel. Go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage at terminal "B" (Red wire) on door lock relay socket. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Red wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminals "D" (Black wire), and "E" (Black wire) on door lock relay socket and door unlock relay socket. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater at any terminal, repair open Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  4. Using an external ohmmeter, measure resistance between component terminals "A" and terminal "D" on door lock relay and door unlock relay. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace relay. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  5. Using an external ohmmeter, measure resistance between component terminals "C" and terminal "E" on door lock relay and door unlock relay. If resistance is not 65-85 ohms, replace relay. If resistance is 65-85 ohms, go to next step.
  6. Disconnect Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module. See Figure . Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal "A" (Orange/Black wire) on door lock relay socket. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Orange/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  7. Measure resistance at terminal "A" (Pink/Black wire) on door unlock relay connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Pink/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  8. Reinstall door unlock relay. Measure resistance at terminal "A" (Orange/Black wire) on door lock relay socket. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Orange/Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  9. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right kick panel. Leave BCM connectors connected. Using test light, backprobe terminal No. 18 (Orange/White wire) on BCM Gray connector. Using scan tool, actuate door lock relay. If test light flashes, repair open Orange/White wire. If test light does not flash, go to next step.
  10. Stop relay actuation. Turn ignition off. Disconnect and inspect BCM Gray connector. Repair connector as necessary. If connector is okay, replace BCM.
