Power Window Motor

  1. Remove appropriate door trim panel. See DOOR TRIM PANEL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect window motor connector. Using jumper wires, apply battery voltage to window motor terminals. Motor should operate, unless it is already at maximum travel. Reverse jumper wires. Motor should operate in opposite direction.
  2. If window does not move in either direction, replace window motor. If motor operates in one direction only, remove motor. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Check window/regulator for freedom of movement.
  3. Remove screws holding glass lift plate to regulator. Slide window up and down by hand to ensure it moves freely in glass channels. If window slides freely, check regulator assembly. Repair window/regulator as necessary.
