Windshield Wiper Test 5B - Wipers Not Operating

NOTE:
Perform WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 5A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION

CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Stop wiper motor actuation. Ensure ignition is on. Place wiper switch in LOW position. Using scan tool, read intermittent wiper switch voltage. If scan tool displays INTRMT WIPE: 2.5V or greater, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. If scan tool displays INTRMT WIPE: 2.4V or le ss, go to next step.
- Remove and inspect fuse No. 5 in junction block. See Figure in EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 3A. If fuse is open, go to step 5). If fuse is okay, go to next step.
- Install fuse. Disconnect multifunction switch connector. See Figure in CHIME TEST 5A. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Dark Blue wire) on switch harness connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Dark Blue wire. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM Black 24-pin connector C2. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance of Dark Green/Red wire between terminal No. 3 on multifunction switch harness connector and terminal No. 8 on BCM Black harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace multifunction switch. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Dark Green/Red wire.
- Turn ignition on. Disconnect multifunction switch connector. See Figure in CHIME TEST 5A. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Dark Blue wire) on switch harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Dark Blue wire for short to ground. Replace fuse No. 5. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 3 (Dark Green/Red wire) on multifunction switch harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Dark Green/Red wire for short to ground. Replace fuse No. 5. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace multifunction switch. Replace fuse No. 5.
