WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1998 Dodge Intrepid and 1998 Chrysler Concorde. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Perform WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 5A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - BODY VERIFICATION TEST
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect motor connector. Do not disconnect jumper wire. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, measure voltage at terminal "E" (Brown/White wire) on wiper HI/LO relay socket. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Brown/White wire. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Ensure ignition, lights and accessories are off. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at "E" (Black wire) on wiper ON/OFF relay socket. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace wiper motor. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black wire.
