Distributor Cap

A resistor is built into distributor cap. Remove distributor cap from engine. Disconnect coil wire. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between distributor cap center button and coil terminal. Resistance should be 5000 ohms. If resistance is not within specification, replace distributor cap. If resistance is within specification, distributor cap is okay.
