Memory Set "S" Position Stuck

NOTE: Perform MEMORY SYSTEM TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-4A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect memory switch 6-pin connector. Using scan tool, select BODY MEMORY SEAT MODULE, then INPUT/OUTPUT. Read MEMORY SET status. If scan tool displays OPEN, replace memory switch. If scan tool does not display OPEN, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) 16-pin harness connector. MHSMM is located under front of seat. See Figure. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 5 (Pink/Black wire) on memory switch harness connector. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair Pink/Black wire for short to ground. If resistance is 1000 ohms or greater, replace MHSMM.
