Test NTC-23: Checking Speed Control Set/Resume Switch
NOTE:
Possible causes are: speed control switch signal circuit to clockspring open, speed control SET/RESUME switch ground circuit open or speed control SET/RESUME switch defective.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect speed control SET/RESUME switch connector. Inspect electrical connector and clean/repair as necessary. Using a DVOM, check resistance of speed control SET/RESUME switch connector (harness side) ground circuit (Black/Tan wire) and chassis ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open ground circuit for speed control SET/RESUME switch. Perform TEST VER-4A: SPEED CONTROL VERIFICATION .
- Connect a jumper wire between speed control switch connector signal circuit (Pink/Light Green wire) and chassis ground. Turn ignition on with engine off. Using scan tool, read speed control switch voltage. If voltage is less than one volt, replace speed control SET/RESUME switch. Perform TEST VER-4A: SPEED CONTROL VERIFICATION . If voltage is one volt or more, test is complete.
