Fuel Gauge Led Malfunction

NOTE: Perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Ensure fuel tank is not empty. If fuel gauge always reads empty, go to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 12C . If fuel gauge reads between empty and full, go to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 12B . If fuel gauge always reads full, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Remove rear seat cushion. Disconnect fuel pump harness connector. Using scan tool, select BODY, then SENSORS. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read fuel level voltage. If voltage is 9 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is greater than 9 volts, replace fuel tank sending unit.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Blue connector C4. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure.
