Low Washer Fluid Indicator Open Circuit

NOTE: Perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 18A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. While monitoring low washer fluid indicator light, cycle ignition switch from OFF to ON position. If indicator light toggles off and on, go to next step. If indicator light does not toggle off and on, replace instrument cluster.
  2. Disconnect washer fluid level switch connector. Connect jumper wire between harness connector terminals. Using scan tool, read washer fluid switch status. If scan tool displays WASH FLUID: CLOSED, replace washer fluid level switch. If scan tool does not display WASH FLUID: CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect jumper wire. Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 2 (Black/Tan wire) on washer fluid level switch harness connector. Read washer fluid switch status. If scan tool displays WASH FLUID: CLOSED, repair open ground circuit (terminal No. 1, Black/Gray wire). If scan tool does not display WASH FLUID: CLOSED, go to next step.
  4. Access instrument cluster Blue 10-pin connector C2. Backprobe jumper wire between terminal No. 4 (Black/Tan wire) and ground. Read washer fluid switch status. If scan tool displays WASH FLUID: CLOSED, repair open Black/Tan wire. If scan tool does not display WASH FLUID: CLOSED, replace instrument cluster.
