Fuel Level Sending Unit Failure

NOTE: Perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) 16-pin Blue connector C4. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure.
  2. Remove rear seat and disconnect left body harness connector. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 2 (Dark Blue wire) on body harness connector. If voltage is 5 volts or less, replace fuel sending unit. If voltage is more than 5 volts, repair Dark Blue wire for short to voltage.
