Horizontal Sensor Out Of Range Low
NOTE:
Perform MEMORY SYSTEM TEST 1A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-4A after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) 16-pin harness connector. MHSMM is located under front of seat. See Figure. Using scan tool, select BODY MEMORY SEAT MODULE, then SENSORS. Read horizontal position sensor voltage. If voltage is .6 volts or greater, replace MHSMM. If voltage is less than .6 volts, go to next step.
- Disconnect horizontal position sensor 3-pin connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal "B" (Violet/Red wire) on rear riser position sensor harness connector. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair Violet/Red wire for short to ground. If resistance is 1000 ohms or greater, replace track assembly (includes horizontal motor).
