Horizontal Sensor Out Of Range High

NOTE: Perform MEMORY SYSTEM TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-4A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) 16-pin harness connector. MHSMM is located under front of seat. See Figure. Using scan tool, select BODY MEMORY SEAT MODULE, then SENSORS. Read horizontal position sensor voltage. If voltage is 4.8 volts or less, replace MHSMM. If voltage is greater than 4.8 volts, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect horizontal position sensor 3-pin connector. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal "B" (Violet/Red wire) on horizontal position sensor harness connector. If voltage is .2 volts or greater, repair Violet/Red wire for short to voltage. If voltage is less than .2 volts, replace track assembly (includes horizontal motor).
