Left Heated Seat Switch Open/Shorted To Ground

NOTE: Perform MEMORY SYSTEM TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-4A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) 26-pin harness connector. MHSMM is located under front of seat. See Figure. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 18 (Tan/Dark Green wire) on MHSMM harness connector. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, replace MHSMM. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect left seat heater switch 6-pin connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Tan/Dark Green wire) on left seat heater switch harness connector. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair Tan/Dark Green wire for short to ground. If resistance is 100 ohms or greater, go to next step.
  3. Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 18 (Tan/Dark Green wire) on MHSMM harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 6 (Tan/Dark Green wire) on left seat heater switch harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace seat heater switch. If resistance is 100 ohms or greater, repair open Tan/Dark Green wire.
