Incorrect Ambient Temperature Reading
NOTE:
Perform OTIS TEST 1A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see
BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A after each repair. Drive vehicle at least 3 miles (greater than 25 MPH) to update OTIS and perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Bone 12-pin connector C3. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 5 (Violet/Dark Green wire) on Bone connector. If resistance is less than 50 k/ohms, repair Violet/Dark Green wire for partial short to ground. If resistance is 50 k/ohms or greater, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between terminals No. 5 and 10 on Bone connector. If resistance is less than 50 k/ohms, repair Violet/Dark Green wire for partial short to Dark Blue/Gray wire. If resistance is 50 k/ohms or greater, replace BCM.
