Automatic Rolling Door Lock Malfunction

NOTE: Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using scan tool, select MISCELLANEOUS. Read auto door lock status. If scan tool displays AUTO DOOR LOCKS: ENABLED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display AUTO DOOR LOCKS: ENABLED, enable auto door locks.
  2. Ensure all doors are closed. Using scan tool, read driver's door ajar status. If scan tool displays LF DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, perform DOOR AJAR TEST 3A . If scan tool does not display LF DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool, read door ajar switch status for remaining doors. If scan tool displays DOOR AJAR: CLOSED for any door, go to DOOR AJAR TEST 1A. If scan tool does not display DOOR AJAR: CLOSED for any door, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select MONITORS. Read PCI bus engine information. Monitor scan tool while depressing accelerator. If TP sensor status does not change, go to appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If TP sensor status does change, go to next step.
  5. Raise and support vehicle. Ensure traction control is turned off (if equipped). Close all doors. Start engine and place shift lever in Drive position. Using scan tool, read PCI bus engine info. Monitor Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) while wheels are rotating.
  6. If MPH does not increase while accelerator is depressed, go to appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If MPH increases while accelerator is depressed, determine if doors lock. If doors lock, system is currently operating correctly. If doors do not lock, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure.
