Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Malfunction
NOTE:
Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 1A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see
BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A after each repair.
To test transmitter, obtain known good transmitter. Using scan tool, select BODY, then BODY COMPUTER. Select MISCELLANEOUS, then RKE FOB test. Press lock or unlock button on transmitter. If RKE responds correctly, replace and program new transmitter. If RKE is inoperative or does not operate correctly, replace RKE module and program all transmitters. To program transmitter, go to POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 11B . If horn chirp is inoperative, go to POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 11C .
