DECKLID Release Switch Failure
NOTE:
Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 1A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see
BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect decklid release switch connector. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Cycle ignition switch off, then on. Wait 30 seconds. Using scan tool, read DTC's. If decklid release switch failure DTC reset, go to next step. If decklid release switch failure DTC is not reset, replace decklid release switch.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Gray 14-pin connector C1. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Black/White wire) on decklid release switch harness connection. If voltage is .5 volts or less, replace BCM. If voltage is greater than .5 volts, repair Black/White wire for short to voltage.
