VTSS Indicator Light Driver Malfunction
NOTE:
Perform VTSS TEST 1A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see
BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) sun sensor/VTSS indicator connector. ATC sun sensor is located under instrument panel top cover. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between terminals No. 1 (Pink wire) and 2 (Black/Orange wire) on ATC sun sensor/VTSS indicator harness connector. Using scan tool, actuate VTSS indicator light. If voltage toggles up to 10 volts, replace VTSS indicator light. If voltage does not toggle up to 10 volts, go to next step.
- Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Pink wire) on ATC sun sensor/VTSS indicator harness connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Pink wire. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black 24-pin connector C2. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure.
