Identifying Windshield Wiper System Problems

NOTE: Perform SYMPTOM ID TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.

Turn ignition on and verify operation of windshield wipers. Operate windshield wiper system in high speed mode, low speed mode, intermittent mode and wash mode (with wipers off). Using scan tool, check DTC's. See WINDSHIELD WIPER SYSTEM DTC DIRECTORY  table. If wiper system does not operate properly, perform indicated test. See WINDSHIELD WIPER SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC TEST DIRECTORY  table.
