Wipers Not Operating

NOTE: Perform WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 5A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Remove jumper wire. Turn ignition on. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal "A" (Red wire) on wiper ON/OFF relay socket. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Red wire. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step.
  2. Install wiper ON/OFF relay. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Bone 12-pin connector C3. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure. Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 4 (Red/White wire) on BCM Bone connector. If wiper motor operates, replace BCM. If wiper motor does not operate, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Remove wiper ON/OFF relay. Do not disconnect jumper wire. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal "C" (Red/White wire) on ON/OFF relay socket. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace wiper ON/OFF relay. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Red/White wire.
