NOTE:
For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagram, see
WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
- Condition to set trouble code is not present at this time. SPEED CONTROL SWITCH ALWAYS HIGH DTC sets when an open is detected in speed control ON/OFF switch circuit. Possible causes are: speed control switch shorted to power, speed control switch open circuit, open ON/OFF switch or PCM failure. Go to next step.
- Using scan tool, observe speed control ON/OFF switch voltage. Wiggle wiring harness between speed control ON/OFF switch to PCM. If wiggling did not cause voltage to go to more than 4.9 volts at any time, problem is not present at this time. Perform TEST VER-4A: SPEED CONTROL VERIFICATION . If wiggling caused voltage to go to more than 4.9 volts at any time, repair wiring harness as necessary where wiggling caused problem to appear. Perform TEST VER-4A: SPEED CONTROL VERIFICATION .
