Fuel Pressure Release: 2.4L
- Ensure ignition is off. Remove fuel pump relay from power distribution center. Power distribution center is located at driver's side front corner of engine compartment, near air cleaner assembly. Fuel pump relay may be identified by label on inside of power distribution center cover. Start engine and allow engine to idle until engine stalls. Attempt restarting engine until engine will no longer run. Turn ignition off.
- Disconnect negative battery cable from remote battery cable terminal on driver's side strut tower. Remove fuel tank filler cap from fuel tank to release any pressure from fuel tank.
- Remove protective cap from fuel pressure test port located at center of fuel rail. Place end of Hose (C-4799-1) into an approved fuel container. Attach remaining end of hose at fuel pressure test port on fuel rail. Use care, as fuel system is under pressure. Fuel pressure will be released from fuel system into fuel container. Fuel system components may now be serviced. Remove hose, reinstall protective cap, fuel tank filler cap, fuel pump relay and negative battery cable once fuel system components are serviced.
