No Response From Body Control Module (Bus +/- Signal Open)

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect junction block harness connector C2. See Figure . Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 8 (Black/Orange wire) at junction block harness connector C2. See Fig 1 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Orange wire between ground and junction block.
  2. Disconnect junction block harness connector C3. See Figure . Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 4 (Black/Light Green wire) at junction block harness connector C3. See Fig 2 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Green wire between ground and junction block.
  3. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) from back for junction block. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at terminal No. 7 at BCM connector on back of junction block. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, replace junction block.
  4. Turn ignition off. Connect junction block harness connector C2. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 at BCM connector on back of junction block. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace junction block.
  5. Connect junction block harness connector C3. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 20 at BCM connector on back of junction block. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace junction block.
  6. Disconnect BCM harness connector C1. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Violet/Yellow wire) at Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Violet/Yellow wire between BCM and DLC.
  7. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at terminal No. 2 (Violet/Yellow wire) at DLC. If voltage does not exist, go to next step. If voltage exists, repair short to voltage in Violet/Yellow wire between BCM and DLC.
  8. Measure resistance in Violet/Yellow wire between terminal No. 2 at DLC and terminal No. 14 at BCM harness connector C1. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace BCM. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Violet/Yellow wire between BCM and DLC.
