No Response From ORC
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform AIR BAG VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least 2 minutes. Disconnect Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 16 (Black/Light Green wire) at ORC harness connector. See Fig 1 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Green wire between ground and ORC.
- Measure resistance between ground and pin No. 16 at ORC connector (component side). If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace ORC.
- Connect negative battery cable. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at terminal No. 14 (Light Green/Yellow wire) at ORC harness connector. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exists, repair power distribution circuit as necessary. See POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
- Measure voltage at terminal No. 15 (Dark Blue/Yellow wire) at ORC harness connector. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exists, repair power distribution circuit as necessary. See POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) harness connector C1. Measure resistance in Violet/Yellow wire between terminal No. 21 at ORC harness connector and terminal No. 7 at BCM harness connector C1. See Figure and Fig 1 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace ORC. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Violet/Yellow wire between ORC and BCM.
