Driver Seat Heat Output Open

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) harness connector C3. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 12 (Red/Dark Green wire) at MHSMM harness connector C3. See Figure . If resistance is greater than 8.5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 8.5 ohms or less, replace MHSMM.
  2. Disconnect driver's heated seat cushion harness connector. Measure resistance in Red/Dark Green wire between terminal "A" at driver's heated seat cushion harness connector and terminal No. 12 at MHSMM harness connector C3. See Figure and Fig 1 . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Red/Dark Green wire between driver's heated seat cushion and MHSMM.
  3. Disconnect driver's heated seat back cushion harness connector. Measure resistance in Brown/Black wire between terminal "B" at driver's heated seat cushion harness connector and terminal "A" at driver's heated seat back cushion harness connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Brown/Black wire between driver's heated seat cushion and driver's heated seat back cushion.
  4. Measure resistance between terminals "A" and "B" at driver's heated seat cushion connector (component side). If resistance is 2.5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 2.5 ohms, replace driver's heated seat cushion.
  5. Measure resistance between ground and terminal "B" (Black wire) at driver's heated seat back cushion harness connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire between driver's heated seat back cushion and ground.
  6. Measure resistance between terminals "A" and "B" at driver's heated seat back cushion connector (component side). If resistance is 2 ohms or less, problem is intermittent. If resistance is greater than 2 ohms, replace driver's heated seat back cushion.
