Driver Seat Heat Output Short To Gnd
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect driver's heated seat cushion harness connector. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Turn ignition off for at least 20 seconds. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs. If this DTC resets, go to next step. If this DTC is not reset, go to step 3 .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) harness connector C3. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 12 (Red/Dark Green wire) at MHSMM harness connector C3. See Figure . If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, replace MHSMM. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Red/Dark Green wire between driver's heated seat cushion and MHSMM.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal "A" at driver's heated seat cushion connector (component side). If resistance is greater than 100 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 100 ohms or less, replace driver's heated seat cushion.
- Disconnect driver's heated seat back cushion harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal "A" at driver's heated seat back cushion connector (component side). If resistance is greater than 100 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 100 ohms or less, replace driver's heated seat back cushion.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal "B" (Brown/Black wire) at driver's heated seat cushion harness connector. See Figure . If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, problem is intermittent. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Brown/Black wire between driver's heated seat cushion and driver's heated seat back cushion.
