Passenger Thermistor Out Of Range Low

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect passenger's heated seat cushion harness connector. Turn ignition on. Turn passenger's seat heater on. Measure voltage at terminal "D" (Black/Light Green wire) at passenger's heated seat cushion harness connector. See Figure . If voltage is 4.5 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is greater than 4.5 volts, go to step  6 .
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) harness connector C1. Measure resistance in Tan/Dark Blue wire between terminal "C" at passenger's heated seat cushion harness connector and terminal No. 17 at MHSMM harness connector C1. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Tan/Dark Blue wire between passenger's heated seat cushion and MHSMM.
  3. Measure resistance between ground and terminal "C" (Tan/Dark Blue wire) at passenger's heated seat cushion harness connector. If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Tan/Dark Blue wire between passenger's heated seat cushion and MHSMM.
  4. Measure resistance between terminals "C" and "D" at passenger's heated seat cushion connector (component side). If resistance is 70 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 70 k/ohms, replace passenger's heated seat cushion.
  5. Measure resistance between ground and terminal "C" at passenger's heated seat cushion connector (component side). If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, replace MHSMM. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, replace passenger's heated seat cushion.
  6. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) harness connector C2. Measure resistance between ground and terminal "D" (Black/Light Green wire) at passenger's heated seat cushion harness connector. If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 1000 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Black/Light Green wire between passenger's heated seat cushion and MHSMM.
  7. Measure resistance in Black/Light Green wire between terminal "D" at passenger's heated seat cushion harness connector and terminal No. 14 at MHSMM harness connector C2. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace MHSMM. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Green wire between passenger's heated seat cushion and MHSMM.
