ABS Warning Indicator Not Operating Properly

NOTE: Ensure no communication concerns exists before proceeding with this test.
  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool, retrieve Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB) module DTCs. If no CAB DTCs exist, go to next step. If any CAB DTCs exist, repair anti-lock brake system as necessary. See appropriate ANTI-LOCK article in BRAKES.
  2. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs. If no DTCs exist, replace instrument cluster. If any DTCs exist, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
