Low Washer Fluid Indicator Not Operating Properly
- Turn ignition off. Check washer fluid level. If fluid level is okay, go to next step. If fluid level is not okay, fill as necessary.
- If low washer fluid indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If low washer fluid indicator is illuminated at all times, go to step 7 .
- Turn ignition on and observe door ajar indicator. If low washer fluid indicator illuminates for 3-10 seconds, go to next step. If low washer fluid indicator does not illuminate for 3-10 seconds, replace instrument cluster.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect washer fluid level switch harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Black wire) at washer fluid level switch harness connector. If resistance is 10 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 10 ohms, repair open in Black wire between washer fluid level switch and ground.
- Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector C2. Measure resistance in Black/Tan wire between terminal No. 1 at washer fluid level switch harness connector and terminal No. 4 at instrument cluster harness connector C2. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Tan wire between washer fluid level switch and instrument cluster.
- Connect instrument cluster harness connector C2. Using a fused jumper wire, connect terminals No. 1 (Black wire) and No. 2 (Black/Tan wire) at washer fluid level switch harness connector. Turn ignition on. If low washer fluid indicator illuminates, replace washer fluid level switch. If low washer fluid indicator does not illuminate, replace instrument cluster.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect washer fluid level switch harness connector. Turn ignition on and wait for one minute. If low washer fluid indicator is still illuminated, go to next step. If low washer fluid indicator turns off, replace washer fluid level switch.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector C2. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 4 (Black/Tan wire) at instrument cluster harness connector C2. See Figure . If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace instrument cluster. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Black/Tan wire between washer fluid level switch and instrument cluster.
