Courtesy Light Output Short To Battery

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect junction block harness connector C11. See Figure . Close all doors. Turn ignition on. If all courtesy lights illuminate except overhead console lights, go to next step. If all courtesy lights do not illuminate and overhead console lights illuminates, go to step  3 .
  2. Turn ignition off. Connect junction block harness connector C11. Turn on all overhead console lights with each individual switch. If all lights illuminate using individual switch, repair short to voltage in Yellow wire between junction block and overhead console. If any lights do not illuminate using individual switch, repair short to voltage in appropriate ground circuit.
  3. Turn ignition off. Remove all courtesy light bulbs. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) from back of junction block. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at terminal No. 2 at BCM connection on back of junction block. See Figure . If voltage exists, repair short to voltage in junction block or Yellow wire between junction block and courtesy lights. If voltage does not exist, replace BCM.
