Automatic (Rolling) Door Locks

  1. Turn ignition off. Connected scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Close all door. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check door ajar status. If CLOSED is not displayed for any door, go to next step. If CLOSED is displayed for any door, repair appropriate door ajar circuit as necessary.
  2. Using scan tool, retrieve Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). If no DTCs exist, go to next step. If any DTCs exist, repair powertrain concern. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
  3. Using scan tool, check auto door lock status. If auto door lock status is enabled, replace BCM. If auto door lock status is not enabled, enable auto door lock status using scan tool.
