Horn Fails To Sound With Alarm Tripped

  1. Press horn pad on steering wheel. If horn is operating properly, go to next step. If horn does not operate properly, repair horn as necessary. See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article.
  2. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check decklid cylinder switch status. If PRESENT is displayed, go to next step. If PRESENT is not displayed, perform VTSS INDICATOR LAMP STAYS ON  .
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) from back of junction block. Using a fused jumper wire, momentarily ground terminal No. 18 at BCM connector on back of junction block. See Figure . If horn sounds, replace BCM. If horn does not sound, replace junction block.
