Using Scan Tool
Power seat switch diagnostic test can be performed using scan tool. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) located on lower left of instrument panel to left of steering column. Power up scan tool and enter diagnostic test No. 2. After entering diagnostic test No. 2, you will have 10 seconds to operate power seat switch in ALL 8 directions, 3 memory switches and both driver's and passenger's heated seat HIGH and LOW requests. At the end of the 10 second testing period, scan tool will indicated PASS or FAIL indication. If all seat switch functions were operated and recognized by scan tool, the scan tool will indicate PASS. If one or more seat switch functions were not recognized by scan tool, the scan tool will indicate FAIL. If one or more seat switch functions are not activated during the 10 second test, the scan tool will also indicate FAIL. If a FAIL is indicated, individual switch information can be accessed using scan tool. If switches fail, replace power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
