Avenger & Sebring Coupe
- Start engine and warm engine until coolant temperature is 176-203°F (80-95°C). Shut engine off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below driver's side of instrument panel, near steering column. See Fig 1
. Scan tool is used to read engine RPM.
- Start engine and allow engine to idle for at least 2 minutes. Ensure all accessories are off and transaxle is in Park. Ensure idle speed is 650-850 RPM.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. If idle speed is within specification, remove scan tool. If idle speed is not within specification, go to next step.
- PCM controls Idle Air Control (IAC) motor for proper idle speed. See DTC TEST NO. 13: IDLE AIR CONTROL MOTOR CIRCUITS
