Check Engine Indicator Not Operating Properly

NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
Possible Causes:
- Instrument Cluster
- Attempt To Communicate With The PCM
- Engine Trouble Codes
Testing
- Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, enter BODY, BODY COMPUTER, SYSTEM TEST then PCM MONITOR. If the PCM is active on the bus, go to next step. If the PCM is not active on the bus, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION or SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION tables.
- With the scan tool, read engine DTC's. If there are any PCM DTC's present, see SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - CONCORDE, INTREPID & 300M article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If There are not any PCM DTC's present, replace instrument cluster. See ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - CONCORDE, INTREPID & 300M article.
