Driver Mirror Horizontal Sensor Out Of Range High

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Concorde, and 2002 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: After making any repairs, perform MEMORY HEATED SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.

Monitored & Set Condition

  1. When Monitored: Ignition on.
  2. Set Condition: This code is set when the mirror sensor feedback to the MHSMM is greater than the mirror out of range high value stored in EEPROM.

Possible Causes:

Testing

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) connector C1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on MHSMM connector C1 terminal No. 20, driver mirror horizontal position signal circuit (Dark Blue/Yellow wire). See Figure . If voltage is more than 4.5 volts, leave MHSMM connector C1 disconnected and go to next step. If voltage is 4.5 volts or less, replace MHSMM. See MEMORY HEATED SEAT/MIRROR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect driver mirror connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on driver mirror connector terminal No. 9, driver mirror horizontal position signal circuit (Dark Blue/Yellow wire). See Figure . If any voltage exists, repair short to voltage in Dark Blue/Yellow wire. If no voltage exists, replace driver mirror. See POWER MIRRORS article.
