Driver Mirror Vertical Sensor Out Of Range Low
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Concorde, and 2002 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform MEMORY HEATED SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
Monitored & Set Condition
- When Monitored: Ignition on.
- Set Condition: This code is set when the mirror sensor feedback to the MHSMM is less than the mirror out of range low value stored in EEPROM.
Possible Causes:
- MHSMM 5-Volt Supply
- 5-Volt Supply To Mirror
- Driver Mirror 5-Volt Supply Open
- Driver Mirror Vertical Position Signal Wire Open
- Driver Mirror Vertical Position Signal Wire Short To Ground
- Mirror Vertical Circuit Check
- Driver Memory Mirror
Testing
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) connector C1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on MHSMM connector C1 terminal No. 7, driver mirror vertical position signal circuit (Yellow/Orange wire). See Figure . If voltage is 4.5-5.0 volts, replace MHSMM. See MEMORY HEATED SEAT/MIRROR MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If voltage is not 4.5-5.0 volts, leave MHSMM connector C1 disconnected and go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect driver mirror connector. Measure resistance of driver mirror vertical position signal circuit (Yellow/Orange wire) between driver mirror connector terminal No. 7 and MHSMM connector C1 terminal No. 7. See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, leave connectors disconnected and go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Yellow/Orange wire.
- Measure resistance between ground and driver mirror connector terminal No. 7, driver mirror horizontal position signal circuit (Yellow/Orange wire). If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair short to ground in Yellow/Orange wire. If resistance is 100 ohms or more, leave driver mirror connector disconnected and go to next step.
- Ensure MHSMM connector is properly connected. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on driver mirror connector terminal No. 6, driver mirror 5-volt supply circuit (Gray/Light Blue). If voltage is 4.5-5.0 volts, replace driver mirror. See appropriate POWER MIRROR article. If voltage is not 5.5-5.0 volts, leave driver mirror connector disconnected and go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect MHSMM connector C2. Measure resistance of driver mirror 5-volt supply circuit (Gray/Light Blue wire) between driver mirror connector terminal No. 6 and MHSMM connector C2 terminal No. 7. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace MHSMM. See MEMORY HEATED SEAT/MIRROR MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Gray/Light Blue wire.
