Horizontal Forward Position Stuck

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Concorde, and 2002 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: After making any repairs, perform MEMORY HEATED SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.

Monitored & Set Condition

  1. When Monitored: Ignition on.
  2. Set Condition: If the seat switch is active for 30 seconds, this code will set and the MHSMM will ignore the input until the state has changed. Once the stuck condition is removed, the seat will resume to normal operation. Code will remain for 20 ignition cycles.

Possible Causes:

Testing

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect power seat switch connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on power seat switch connector terminal No. 10, seat horizontal forward switch sense circuit (Yellow/Light Blue wire). See Figure . If any voltage exists, leave power seat switch connector disconnected and go to next step. If no voltage exists, replace power seat switch. See POWER SEATS article.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) connector C1. Measure voltage between ground and MHSMM connector C1 terminal No. 10, seat horizontal forward switch sense circuit (Yellow/Light Blue wire). See Figure . If any voltage exists, repair short to voltage in Yellow/Light Blue wire. If no voltage exists, replace MHSMM. See MEMORY HEATED SEAT/MIRROR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
