Passenger Mirror Horizontal Sensor Out Of Range High

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Concorde, and 2002 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: After making any repairs, perform MEMORY HEATED SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.

Monitored & Set Condition

  1. When Monitored: Ignition on.
  2. Set Condition: This code is set when the mirror sensor feedback to the MHSMM is greater than the mirror out of range high value stored in EEPROM.

Possible Causes:

Testing

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) connector C1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on MHSMM connector C1 terminal No. 19, passenger mirror horizontal position signal circuit (Dark Green/Red wire). See Figure . If voltage is more than 4.5 volts, leave MHSMM connector C1 disconnected and go to next step. If voltage is 4.5 volts or less, replace MHSMM. See MEMORY HEATED SEAT/MIRROR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect passenger mirror connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on passenger mirror connector terminal No. 9, passenger mirror horizontal position signal circuit (Dark Green/Red wire). See Figure . If any voltage exists, repair short to voltage in Dark Green/Red wire. If no voltage exists, replace passenger mirror. See appropriate POWER MIRRORS article.
