Passenger Mirror Horizontal Sensor Out Of Range Low
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Concorde, and 2002 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform MEMORY HEATED SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
Monitored & Set Condition
- When Monitored: Ignition on.
- Set Condition: This code is set when the mirror sensor feedback to the MHSMM is less than the mirror out of range low value stored in EEPROM.
Possible Causes:
- MHSMM 5-Volt Supply
- 5-Volt Supply To Mirror
- Mirror Horizontal Circuit Check
- Passenger Mirror 5-Volt Supply Open
- Passenger Mirror Horizontal Position Signal Wire Open
- Passenger Mirror Horizontal Position Signal Wire Short To Ground
- Passenger Memory Mirror
Testing
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) connector C1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on MHSMM connector C1 terminal No. 19, passenger mirror horizontal position signal circuit (Dark Green/Red wire). See Figure . If voltage is 4.5-5.0 volts, replace MHSMM. See MEMORY HEATED SEAT/MIRROR MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If voltage is not 4.5-5.0 volts, leave MHSMM connector C1 disconnected and go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect passenger mirror connector. Measure resistance of passenger mirror horizontal position signal circuit (Dark Green/Red wire) between passenger mirror connector terminal No. 9 and MHSMM connector C1 terminal No. 19. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, leave connectors disconnected and go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Dark Green/Red wire.
- Measure resistance between ground and passenger mirror connector terminal No. 9, passenger mirror horizontal position signal circuit (Dark Green/Red wire). If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Green/Red wire. If resistance is 1000 ohms or more, leave passenger mirror connector disconnected and go to next step.
- Ensure MHSMM connector is properly connected. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage on passenger mirror connector terminal No. 6, passenger mirror 5-volt supply circuit (Gray/White wire). If voltage is 4.5-5.0 volts, replace passenger mirror. See appropriate POWER MIRROR article. If voltage is not 5.5-5.0 volts, leave passenger mirror connector disconnected and go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect MHSMM connector C2. Measure resistance of passenger mirror 5-volt supply circuit (Gray/White wire) between passenger mirror connector terminal No. 6 and MHSMM connector C2 terminal No. 8. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace MHSMM. See MEMORY HEATED SEAT/MIRROR MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Gray/White wire.
