OTIS Screen Displays FAIL

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Concorde, and 2002 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.

Possible Causes:

Testing

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, perform AUTO SELF-TEST while observing Overhead Travel Information System (OTIS) display. If OTIS displays FAIL, replace OTIS module. See OVERHEAD CONSOLES - CONCORDE, INTREPID & 300M article. If OTIS does not display FAIL, fault may be intermittent. Check related wiring and connectors for poor connections or damage to wiring harness. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair any problems found as necessary. If no problems are found, check if any Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) apply to vehicle. If no TSBs apply, test is complete.
