Ambient Temperature Sensor Test
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Chrysler Concorde, 2003 Chrysler 300M, 2002 Chrysler Concorde, and 2002 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Disconnect the ambient temperature sensor wire harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the ambient temperature sensor. At -40°F (-40°C), the sensor resistance is 336 k/ohms. At 140°F (60°C), the sensor resistance is 2.5 k/ohms. The sensor resistance should read between these 2 values. If OK, see AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT TEST . If not OK, replace the faulty ambient temperature sensor.
