Driver Thermistor Out Of Range High
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Dodge Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Intrepid, 2002 Chrysler Concorde, and 2002 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
After making any repairs, perform MEMORY HEATED SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST
under VERIFICATION TESTS.
Monitored & Set Condition
- When Monitored: Ignition on, during the heated seat operation.
- Set Condition: This code is immediately set when the Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module senses a greater value than the value stored in EEPROM.
Possible Causes:
- Driver Seat Temperature Sensor
- Driver Seat Temp Sensor Input CKT Short To Voltage
- Driver Seat Temperature 5-Volt Supply Wire Short To Voltage
- Memory Heated Seat Mirror Module
Testing
- Turn ignition on. Raise driver seat to highest position to gain access to seat components and connectors. Turn ignition off. Disconnect driver heated seat cushion 4-pin connector. Turn ignition on. Turn driver heated seat switch on. Measure voltage between ground and driver heated seat cushion 4-pin connector terminal "D", driver seat temperature 5-volt supply circuit (Black/Dark Green wire). See Figure . If voltage is more than 5.5 volts, leave driver heated seat cushion 4-pin connector disconnected and go to next step. If voltage is 5.5 volts or less, leave driver heated seat cushion 4-pin connector disconnected and go to step 3 .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) connector C2. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and driver heated seat cushion connector (component side) terminal "D", driver seat temperature 5-volt supply circuit. Figure . If any voltage exists, repair short to voltage in driver seat temperature 5-volt supply circuit. If no voltage exists, replace MHSMM. See MEMORY HEATED SEAT/MIRROR MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Memory Heated Seat/Mirror Module (MHSMM) connector C1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and driver heated seat cushion 4-pin connector terminal "C", driver seat temperature sensor input circuit (Tan/Light Blue wire). If any voltage exists, repair short to voltage in Tan/Light Blue wire. If no voltage exists, replace driver heated seat cushion. See POWER SEATS article.
