- Engine Trouble Codes
- Perform Instrument Cluster Self-Test
Testing
- Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, retrieve Powertrain Control Module (PCM) DTCs. If no PCM DTCs exist, go to next step. If any PCM DTCs exist, see SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - CONCORDE, INTREPID & 300M article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
- To start bulb test, turn ignition off, then on. If charging indicator illuminates for 3-10 seconds, go to next step. If charging indicator does not illuminate for 3-10 seconds, replace instrument cluster. See ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - CONCORDE, INTREPID & 300M article.
- Check charging system operation. See appropriate GENERATORS & REGULATORS article in STARTING & CHARGING SYSTEMS. Repair charging system as necessary. If charging system is operating properly, replace instrument cluster. See ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - CONCORDE, INTREPID & 300M article.
